Mood Blanket
Client: British Airways
British Airways have made hundreds of refinements to their fleet to improve passengers' wellbeing. To showcase the differences these enhancements made, we measured how relaxed passengers felt and displayed it by changing colour of their blanket.
Passengers wore a EEG headset that monitored their brainwaves and relayed fluctuations to the electronics in the blankets, changing the colour of the fiber optics woven in the fabric. When a person is stressed or anxious the blanket turns red. And when calm and relaxed, it turns blue.
My role started with the development of the concept to create a proof of concept, interfacing a third party EEG headset to Arduino via Bluetooth, and resourcing the high power LEDs and fiber optic fabric. I liased with the third parties for the production of the final blankets.
